The Department of Information and Communications Technologies of the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position

The candidate should hold a PhD in computer science or a closely related field and preferably have a strong background in audio, video or computer vision technologies or computer graphics and visualization.

A successful candidate should have a solid research track record and show promise for excellence in teaching. Teaching excellence will be highly considered, as well as experience in first-year engineering courses and courses related to the Audiovisual Systems Engineering Degree and mentoring students at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The candidate must have a solid track record in all areas of Audio and Video technologies and possibly computer vision, computer graphics and visualization technologies that integrate well with the educational needs of the department.The candidate should demonstrate outstanding experience in outreach and knowledge transfer to other institutions, companies and the public sector.

Previous experience in professional service will also be valued, as the candidate might be required to assume some management responsibilities.

Gross annual salary: 39.458,02€

Qualifications

The selected candidate must have a doctorate (or equivalent) in computer science or a closely related field; preferably have a solid background in audio, video or computer vision technologies or computer graphics and visualization.
The candidate must have a solid research track record and show the promise of excellence in teaching. Teaching excellence will be highly valued, as will experience in first-year engineering courses and courses related to the Audiovisual Systems Engineering Degree and mentoring students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
The candidate must have a solid track record in all areas of Audio and Video Technologies and possibly computer vision, computer graphics and visualization that integrate well with the educational needs of the department. For example, have publications published in journals indexed in JCR Q1 at leading conferences in digital audio and video technologies, and for have previous experience collaborating with international researchers on publications or competitive research projects.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in other areas that complement well with the department's research (in multimedia, biomedical engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, digital systems of audiovisual technologies, or data science).
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to attract external funding and the potential to secure partnerships or consultancies with the private sector. It is desirable that the candidate demonstrates leadership research projects with social and economic impact.
It will be positively assessed if the candidate has a minimum of two years of previous professional experience abroad, and if has participated in at least one competitive research project as the main researcher.
The candidate must demonstrate outstanding experience in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to other institutions, companies and the public sector.
