ISMIR 2021 closed with awards to MTG members and the announcement of ISMIR 2022 in India
The International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR) is one of the main conferences for our community and gathers many current and former MTG members. As every year, it was an excellent opportunity for meeting and networking. This year the conference took place in a virtual format, so we could not take the traditional MTG photo, but we took a picture of the avatars on the virtual space instead. It was great to meet everyone!
ISMIR 2021, which took place 7 to 14 November 2021, closed with some recognitions to MTG members:
- Best Student Paper Award to "Emotion Embedding Spaces for Matching Music to Stories" by Minz Won, Justin Salamon, Nicholas J. Bryan, Gautham Mysore, and Xavier Serra.
- Best Reviewer Award to Rafael Caro Repetto.
- Alia Morsi elected as new ISMIR board member
Congratulations to all!
In addition, the new edition of ISMIR was announced. It will take place in 2022 in Bengaluru, India, and Xavier Serra and other MTG members will be part of the organization committee. More information will be available soon.
