Six new PhD students join the MTG
We are happy to welcome the new PhD students joining the MTG this academic year 2023-2024. They will work on different topics and projects:
Recep Oğuz Araz:
Music classification and music representation learning. In the context of the projects we carry out to develop new deep learning models for our Essentia software library and tools. Supervisors: Dmitry Bogdanov & Xavier Serra.
Tinke van Buijtene:
Effects of Interactive EEG-based Sonification and Music Generation on Sleep Induction and Sleep Quality. In the context of the Lullabyte MSCA Doctoral Network. Supervisors: Sergi Jordà & Perfecto Herrera
Nicholas Evans:
Customizable Performance-Oriented Music Generation. In the context of the projects we carry out to develop new deep learning models for real-time music generation. Supervisors: Sergi Jordà
Blazej Kotowski:
Computational analysis of sound events: classification and characterization of sound effects. In the context of the projects we carry out around the Freesound website. Supervisors: Frederic Font & Xavier Serra.
Raquel Lucena:
Adaptive digital music interfaces for motor rehabilitation. In the context of the music and health projects we carry out in collaboration with Parc de Salut Mar. Supervisor: Rafael Ramirez.
Adithi Shankar Sivasankar:
Computational musicology: style specific music analysis. In the context of the CompMusic project and the music traditions included in the Dunya platform. Supervisors: Martin Rocamora & Xavier Serra.
