Title: Introduction to research activities in Yamaha R&D in the field of musical acoustics

Abstract: Yamaha Corporation offers a product lineup that covers almost all major musical instruments including pianos, string instruments, wind instruments and percussion. The designing process of these products is highly supported by technologies such as measurement, simulation and signal processing. This talk aims to provide an introduction to the R&D activities on musical acoustics at Yamaha Corporation by showing concrete examples on pianos, wind instruments and guitars. There is also an introduction to an internship program that is provided by Yamaha R&D which targets MSc and PhD students.
