Catalan journalist, and UPF professor, Mònica Terribas gave the conference “Journalism, Citizenship and Political Conflict” in the opening keynote of our programme on Wednesday 23 February. An inspiring talk that we are very grateful for!
The keynote provided some biographical clues to discuss about the condition of journalists, whose beliefs as a citizen can be confronted within an internal political conflict. The international coverage of political struggles, crises and wars, do not face the same challenges. Being aware of your own position and contradictions, and showing them to the audience, is a way to deal with them with honesty and transparency.
