Outside the UK and the USA, only ETH Zurich comes in the top ten.

The University, eleventh in the world and first in Europe for citations

The methodology used in this list focuses on the same thirteen performance indicators as the overall THE ranking (in its latest edition, UPF came 143rd), divided among five major areas. However, the methodology has been readjusted to adapt to the various disciplines included.

Pompeu Fabra has achieved a magnificent result for Citations in specialist publications, scoring 99.6, making it the first European university in this field and eleventh in the world.

The other 4 major areas and UPF scores are as follow: International outlook (67.3), Industry income (51.3), Teaching (26.3) and Research (17.3). Compared to the last year, the University has risen in the categories Citations, Industry income, and Teaching (in which it scored 98.9, 40.8 and 23.7, respectively) and has fallen slightly in International outlook and Research.

THE’s Engineering and Technology ranking, which assesses all field-related disciplines, implies the work carried out at the Engineering School and the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC), that comprise the Information and Communication Technologies Academic Coordination Unit (UCA).
