The Cybermetrics Lab at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) has published a list of the most cited Spanish scientists worldwide. Ricardo Baeza-Yates, coordinator of the Web Research Group, is placed among the spanish top 100.

The Cybermetrics Lab at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) has published a list of the most cited Spanish scientists worldwide. Of the 5,000 scientists who make up the ranking, more than a hundred belong to Pompeu Fabra University, ten of whom are in the top 100.

Ricardo Baeza Yates, the 51st most cited Spanish researcher in the world, has been an ICREA research professor and is the founder and coordinator of the Web Research Group of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) at UPF. Baeza Yates is an expert in algorithms and data structures, information retrieval data searching and mining on the web, and has been the vice president for research of Yahoo! Labs for the past ten years. The Web Research Group carries out work in the subprojects "Mining the Knowledge of Scientific Publications", "Understanding and Improving Social Interactions in Online Participation Platforms" and "Music meets Natural Language Processing".
