Bioimage Analysis Workshops and Web launched

The Bio Image and Signal Analysis project launches the web where the workshops, resources and services for the community in life sciences and technology working in bioimage analysis will be made available.

he Bio Image and Signal Analysis project launches the web where the workshops, resources and services made for the community in life sciences and technology working in bioimage analysis will be made available. So far, Chong Zhang, postdoctoral researcher at DTIC, has taken part and / or organised the following events.

The need for Bio Image Analysis support to researchers in the life sciences

Driven by new technologies (including high-throughput and high-content approaches in screening, sequencing and imaging), the life sciences are becoming increasingly quantitative. The analysis of complex data sets requires expertise in state-of-the-art image processing, statistical data analysis and mathematical modelling.

Within the Maria de Maetzu program, the bia@UPF provides computational support for bioimage analysis, which includes (but not limited to):

  • image analysis techniques;
  • software tools/plugins usage;
  • programming languages;
  • script/macro writing;
  • workflow design and buildup;
  • user-specific analysis tools/code deliverables.

Currently, we offer support, consultancy and training in two formats:

  • one-to-one support and collaboration through individual appointments.
  • one-to-many / many-to-many support through discussion groups, training courses and workshops.

Please feel free to contact bia@UPF. You are also welcome to join the bia@UPF mailing list.

Additional information on the Bio Image Analysis project can be found in the presentation below
