Videos of the Barcelona Music Technology Forum

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Music Technology Group, on June 27th and 28th 2019 we organized the BCN Music Technology Forum, an event that brought together past and current members, plus friends. These 25 years have been an exciting story of challenges, successes, and failures. It started with a group of visionaries and crazy people (crazy about music, science, human beings, and technology) in the dark and lonely basement of the Miró Foundation that in time, at the UPF, developed into one of the reference groups in music research, making of Barcelona an international music technology hub. 56 PhD thesis and 1300 publications have been produced during all these years and many technologies have been created, with significant successes such as Vocaloid, Reactable, Freesound, or Essentia. More than 400 people have worked or studied with us and have built on their MTG experience to develop successful professional careers. The program of the BCN Music Tech Forum captures these 25 years of history and shows our future potential. We heard the personal and professional stories of more than 50 ex-MTGers coming from different parts of the world, and we presented the current research at the MTG. It was a gathering to interact and learn from each other.
