MobileHCI 2018 conference at UPF

MobileHCI provides a forum for academics and practitioners to discuss the challenges, potential solutions and innovations towards effective interaction with mobile systems and services - the HCI of mobiles. The conferences are unique in bringing together researchers and practitioners in an informal and collaborative format.

The conferences cover the analysis, design, evaluation and application of human-computer interaction techniques and approaches for all mobile computing devices, software and services. Starting in Scotland in 1998, the event has grown into an annual international conference with the most recent event in Toronto and Copenhagen and the next in the Tuscan capital of Florence. Beyond mobile devices and services, the conference covers issues within the whole ecosystem of mobile, smart and embedded devices as well as related services.

MobileHCI 2018 will take place at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Ciutadella Campus) and welcomes contributions related to any aspect of HCI technology, experience, methodology, and theory—or any mix thereof, and beyond, and solicits proposals for workshops, demonstrations, tutorials, and industrial case study papers. The program is available here. A significant number of researchers part of the DTIC-UPF community led the organisation, such as Josep Blat (Professor at DTIC-UPF), Nuria Oliver (member of the International advisory Board, Director of Research at Vodafone and Chief Data Scientist at Data-pop Alliance) and alumni from the PhD program, such as Juan Pablo Carrascal (now at Microsoft), Andrea Rosales (now at UOC) or Sergio Sayago (now at University of Barcelona).
