Neural networks, deep learning and other AI technologies are rapidly entering different areas of our society, with social and economic impacts often difficult to predict, even in the short term. Art and culture, areas that until recently seemed reserved for human creativity, are no exception. In 2022 we have seen the massive popularization of image generation systems from textual descriptions such as DALL-E or Midjourney. In the area of music, the current applications of AI may not yet be as spectacular or popular as those of the visual domain, but the advances are no less vertiginous, and the future possibilities, immense, and with enormous potential for social and economic impact. In this talk we will present examples of the state of the art and also raise some ethical, philosophical and legal questions.
