Intersecting Realities: Exploring The Metaverse Through The Lens Of Art And Science
The Metaverse is “a post-reality universe, a perpetual and persistent multiuser environment merging physical reality with digital virtuality. It is based on the convergence of technologies that enable multisensory interactions with virtual environments, digital objects and people such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).”
CREW’s Eric and Isjtar participated in the Intersecting Realities, Leonardo/ISAST Lasertalks, which had as topic the so called “metaverse”. They talked about their artistic concepts and research in the Horizon Europe Max-R project. Eric focused on immersive media with audience in large environments, while Isjtar presented his preliminary research with regards to online experiences.
The Leonardo/ISAST LASERs are a program of international gatherings that bring artists, scientists, humanists and technologists together for informal presentations, performances and conversations with the wider public. The mission of the LASERs is to encourage contribution to the cultural environment of a region by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and opportunities for community building to over 50 cities around the world.
