Ana Lucia Costa is a Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Fellow. Adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, Ana’s work stands at the crossroads of gender, sexuality and critical race studies, narrative and affect theory, and discourse and public policy analysis. Examining topics such as commercial sex, gender violence and hate crimes, her research interrogates the entanglement between gender representations, performativity, and political ideas of freedom, as well as the way bodies are differently valued across gender, sexual and racial lines among others.
