Before joining the Law and Philosophy Research Group, Paula obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Goldsmiths University of London, a Master’s of Science in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics, and a Master’s of Arts in Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
Previously, Paula has worked as a research assistant in several projects within the Media and Communications Department at LSE and as a junior researcher within the Communication Networks & Social Change Group (CNSC) at the UOC, where she contributed to the development of an analytical framework for evaluating democratic innovation within public participatory processes.
More recently, she started collaborating with PRAXIS, a research group in practical philosophy based at the University of the Balearic Islands and linked to the Institute for the Research of Artificial Intelligence and the Center for the Governance of Change based at IE University, an applied research group, that studies the political, economic, and societal implications of the current technological revolution and advances solutions to overcome its unwanted effects.
Currently, Paula is a PhD candidate in Philosophy of Law at Pompeu Fabra University, funded with an FPI scholarship (CEX2021-001169-M) on the role of evidence in politics and the public sphere under the supervision of J.L Martì. Her work focuses on the governance of autonomous artificial intelligence. Aside from academia, Paula enjoys nature, going on adventures, socializing and having deep conversations.
