Law and Philosophy Research Group
The first edition of the conference “En teoría hay mujeres (en teoría) will be held on September 27 and 28. A congress in legal theory in which all the speakers are women. Often, women are underrepresented in events related to legal theory. That’s the reason why we think that it makes sense to organize an event like this, since we want to contribute to the visibility of women in the field and help to create a network for future collaborations.
This congress will analyse different theoretical aspects related to law, such as legal interpretation, evidence or problems of gender in the law.
The shortened name for the Congress for communicative purposes (Twitter, Facebook, and mailing) can simply be “En teoría hay mujeres”.
The congress will take place during two days, in which different speakers from well-known universities in Argentina, Chile, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom will talk and discuss about multiple topics related to legal theory. Moreover, there will be a final conference about the visibility of women in the academy, given by Adèle Mercier (Canada).
The conference is organized by Carolina Fernández Blanco (UdG), Victoria Kristan (UPF), Lorena Ramírez Ludeña (UPF) and Carmen Vázquez (UdG).
