Ana Costa is a BA in Law (2005, University of Coimbra), holds a Post Graduation Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (2006, Ius Gentium Conimbrigae, Coimbra), the European Master´s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (2007, Venice), and a Master´s Degree in Theory of Law (2016, Rio de Janeiro). Her Master´s dissertation on Law´s directive force has been published under the name “Da Mera Sobrevivência aos Direitos Humanos Absolutos: A Crítica de John Finnis à Força Diretiva do Direito Segundo H. L. A. Hart”.

She has been a visiting student and researcher at Università degli Studi di Parma (2005), Université du Luxembourg (2007), Universitat de Girona (2015) and at the Gender Department of the Central European University (2018, Budapest). 

Currently, Ana is a Ph.D. candidate at the University Pompeu Fabra, Department of Philosophy of Law. Under the supervision of Professor Marisa Iglesias, her work focus on issues of women´s freedom and equality under patriarchal societies, in the specific context of prostitution.
