The Research Group on Evolutionary Genomics is led by Dr. Arcadi Navarro. The group focuses on elucidating how evolution, and particularly natural selection, has shaped genome and phenotype diversity in our lineage.

The main research lines are:

  • Chromosomal evolution and speciation
  • Segmental duplications and copy number variation in primates
  • Detecting the genomic signature of natural selection
  • Human diseases and its evolutionary implications
  • Genoeconomics
