The article, entitled "The energy crisis and the ecological transition: Contradictions and challenges", explores some of the concerns that have been raised regarding the current transition to "green" technologies in the struggle against global warming.

Whilst recognising the progress made in terms of policy iniciatives towards tackling the climate crisis, Dr. Zografos asks two key questions: "where will the material needed to power low-carbon energy transformations come from?" and "through what means will both the material and energy production infrastructure necessary for low-carbon transitions be made available?" He highlights the importance of taking into consideration global justice and inequalities when designing policies for the energy transition, in order to avoid the North replicating "new forms of colonialism, namely, climate colonialism, or maintain[ing] forms of neo-colonialism," and to ensure that no-one is left behind in the transition to a more socio-envionrmentally sustainable world.

The article was published in 360upf as part of a collection of essays on the impact of the energy crisis. It can be accessed here in English, Spanish and Catalan.
