The JHU-UPF Public Policy Center presents "Democràcia('t): polítiques públiques a l'abast de tothom" [Democratise (yourself): public policies in everyone’s reach], a project that aims to make visible our research and teaching activities in important areas of public and social policies. Democràcia('t) contributes to the creation of a dialogue between academia and citizens as a whole, building networks of knowledge and democratic reflection on social challenges and how to address them, highlighting the importance of research in these processes.

Democracia('t) is an audiovisual project in Catalan, composed of explanatory video-summaries of between 60 and 120 seconds with a critical, systemic and interdisciplinary vision, based on the research produced at local, state and international levels at the JHU-UPF Public Policy Center. These videos will be posted on the Center's YouTube and Twitter channels and on an Instagram account created specifically for the project.

The topics of the videos will be related to the main research lines of the JHU-UPF Public Policy Center:

• Inequality and poverty: study of their causes and effects on both individuals and social groups, as well as possible policy interventions available to address them.

• Climate and environment: analysis of climate-related issues, the ecosocial crisis and other environmental challenges and policies.

• EU and international governance and public policy: comprehensive critical analyses that capture the complexity of the problems currently facing populations both in the EU and globally, including the main governance and public and social policy instruments.

• Working conditions: studies analysing working conditions and social determinants of health, informing public policies that can facilitate the reduction of their harmful effects by different social groups.

• Health and well-being: various determinants, interactions and dynamics that impact negatively on the health, well-being and equity of populations, as well as possible mechanisms for reducing them.
