Professor Vicenç Navarro is Professor of Political Science at the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), where he is Director of the Master in Public and Social Policy, sponsored both by the Pompeu Fabra University and The Johns Hopkins University. He has also served as Professor of Public Policy and Policy Studies since 1977 at the JHU, where he was a founder of its Public Policy Program, one of the most renowned of its kind in the USA. He also has been an advisor to the United Nations, to some European and Latin American governments (including the Unidad Popular government led by Dr. Allende), and to both the US government and to the US Congress.
Main research areas are Public and social policies, Economic policy, Health policy, Public health policy. He is the author of 25 books and has written more than 400 scientific articles. In Spain, he was awarded the Anagrama Essay Award 2002 for his book "Bienestar insuficiente, Democracia Incompleta. Sobre lo que no se habla en nuestro país" (Ed. Anagrama. 2002).
