100 citations of "3D graphics on the web: A survey"

The paper “3D graphics on the web: A survey" has reached 100 citations in Google Scholar

UPF-GTI published in the journal Computers & Graphics the first ever survey paper into 3D graphics on the web in June 2014. This paper explains all the major techniques for rendering of 3D graphics on the web, all major approaches to browser-based rendering, among other issues as the distribution of 3D content or the major applications fields. The rise of WebGL is discussed and the impact and popularity of the 3D web assessed, reviewing the past and looking to the future.

Recently, this paper has reached the 100 citations in Google Scholar, one of the major references sites for professional researchers or people who are searching for technical and reliable data. UPF-GTI is widely proud that our contribution to the 3D world has become relevant for many other researches. It is always positive to see that people is getting more interested in the topics that we work, so the impact of these technologies on the society keeps growing.
