Urban Migration Governance: Negotiating Autonomy and Belonging in Cities

 

The teams of the BROAD-ER Project will present five papers at the 21st IMISCOE Annual Conference in Lisbon (2-5 July 2024).

The panel titled "Urban Migration Governance: Negotiating Autonomy and Belonging in Cities" will focus on urban migration governance, particularly on autonomy, belonging, and diplomatic strategies in cities.

Through the case studies from Istanbul, Amsterdam, and Barcelona, the papers explore how cities and local actors navigate challenges and opportunities in the governance of international migration.

From GRITIM-UPF, Rafik Arfaoui and Diletta Marcucci will present their papers and Ricard Zapata-Barrero will be discussant.
