GRITIM-UPF welcomes Gulce Ozdemir as our new PhD candidate!

Gulce Safak Ozdemir is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she has finished her Master in Migration Studies as well. She obtained a BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University. Her master thesis is related to volunteering action in Catalonia within the context of humanitarianism and hospitability, and the title of her PhD research is ''Beyond Humanitarianism: The meaning of Volunteerism within the Context of Solidarity''. She has done an internship in the Republic of Turkey Ministry of European Union Affairs and in Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly, which is an NGO providing legal information and assistance services to asylum seekers.
