Gatha Nautiyal is a doctoral fellow at the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. She holds an M.Phil in European Studies (2013) from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Masters in Politics and International Studies (2011) from Pondicherry University, India. She has presented her dissertation at the International Political Science Association's 24th World Congress of Political Science, Poznan and has previously interned with the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees, New Delhi (2011).
Her research interests include migration, identity issues, human rights, multiculturalism and citizenship. She is currently on a field work for her doctoral thesis on the integration of Moroccan immigrants in Spain. Her research focuses on the political, social and cultural factors that are challenging the integration of Moroccan immigrants in Spain. Through her field work she intends to analyse the behaviours and opinions of the host population towards this immigrant community.
Gatha Nautiyal will be visiting GRITIM-UPF as an ERASMUS+ Mobility Fellow until the end of July 2017.
