Hélène Thiollet is a CNRS researcher at Sciences Po - CERI Centre for International Research. She works on the politics of migration and asylum in the Global South, and focuses her empirical research on the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. She teaches international relations, comparative politics and migration studies at Sciences Po.
Hélène coordinated the French National Research Agency project « MobGlob – Global Mobility and Migration Governance" with Catherine Wihtol de Wenden from 2012 to 2015. She was a Post Doctoral Fellow at Oxford University in 2009-2010 at the DPIR and International Migration Institute at Oxford. She is a graduate from the Ecole normale supérieure (Ulm A/L98), holds a PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po and Master degrees in Geography of Development and Classics from La Sorbonne. In 2002-2003 she was a Visiting Student at the Harvard University, Department of Government.
During her visit at GRITIM, Hélène will work on a manuscript describing the socio-historical processes of migration, asylum and State building in the Eritrean diaspora since the 1960s. She will stay at GRITIM-UPF from October 2d until December 3d, 2016.
