Josep Maria Casasús i Guri (Barcelona, 1944), journalist and University Chairman. PhD in Informational Sciences. First Dean of the Journalism Studies and the Faculty of Communication in Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has beenPresident of the Catalan Communication Society and the Spanish Journalistic Society. Numerary member of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC), he has been awarded with the Creu de Sant Jordi and the Jaume Vicens Vives honour to university teaching quality. Founding member of the Scientific Communication Observatory (OCC), he was its Director from 2014 to 2015.

Nowadays he is the Universitat Pompeu Fabra's Ombudsman.
