The group of Spanish Universities in European Universities (UEUE) is set up
The group of Spanish Universities in European Universities (UEUE) was born at the meeting held at the Autonomous University of Madrid (in hybrid format) with more than 80 participants.
After more than five years working as an informal group coordinated by the University of Barcelona, and given the progressive incorporation of new universities to the group, which has grown from 11 universities in 2019 to 55 universities in 52 alliances in 2024, the group has been provided with a governance and operating rules to achieve the objective of the group more effectively. Before the end of the year, the assembly is expected to be formally constituted, the operating rules approved and the members of the first executive committee that will coordinate the group in this new phase elected.
The aim of the group is to create an environment of cooperation that allows the sharing of knowledge, experiences and good practices between universities and other Spanish higher education institutions[ that participate in European university alliances, but also with the rest of the higher education institutions with whom it is hoped to be able to work together to address the challenges facing the Spanish university system in the European context.
