The EUTOPIA Alliance has organized the first Doctoral School for EUTOPIA Students. This opportunity will take place in Lisbon, from 9th to 14th May 2023 in the Arrabida Monastery. Therefore, EUTOPIA UPF opened a competitive call to sponsor the tuition and other fees for a maximum of 3 UPF PhD students until May, 1st. The School aims to provide tools for an educated practice, which results in better communication with several audiences, namely peers, lay audiences and the job market. The programme will bring together PhD students from the different Eutopian Universities in order to network, debate ideas and write together.

It includes a “writing retreat" experiential session, science communication sessions, and a concluding round table on employability and scientific careers.

The Eutopia Doctoral School can host a max of 30 PhD candidates from the 10 universities involved in the EUTOPIA network, and participants will receive a certificate of EUTOPIA Doctoral School with notification of invested hours.

The programme will have the participation of Ana Sanchez, Assistant Professor at NOVA University, António Granado, Associate Professor at NOVA University, the journalist Vasco Trigo and the actor Romeu Costa for the Science Communication sessions and the Writing Retreat will be held by Joana Pais Zózimo, Senior Researcher at Lancaster University, in partnership with NOVA University. Carmen Perez, from Pompeu Fabra University, will participate in the Online Round table.
