The future of Europe. Why do the elections to the European Parliament in 2019 matter?

04/07/2018 El futur d'Europa

Invited speaker: Concepción Muñoz

Organized by Prof. Javier Arregui and Prof. Andrea Noferini

In May 2019 the Europeans will start voting on Thursday 23rd and will end on Sunday 26th. European Parliament Members should be elected by direct universal suffrage and on the basis of proportional representation, and each country will decide whether to use a system of open or closed lists. What will be the impact of the elections on the future of the European Union? And in what way will the composition of the new European Parliament have an impact on European public policies?

The general objective of the course is to reflect together with the group of teachers on how to introduce the contents related to the EU in the didactic programs of the secondary cycle.
