The Association for Computing Machinery’s Council on Women (ACM-W) supporting the engagement of women in technology has awarded CSIM master student Andrea Bravo with a scholarship to attend the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI2018) in Montreal, April 2018.

The student will be travelling to Montreal to participate in the Student Design Competition at the CHI2018 conference, after having been chosen as one of the 12 candidates to the final award among a pool of entries from international research teams. Andrea participates in the competition as part of the Full-Body Interaction Lab (FuBIntLab) project “Gen-Play”,  together with UPF PhD candidates Ciera Crowell, Batuhan Sayis and master student in residence Andrea Paramithiotti (Politecnico di Milano).

Andrea has been developing her master thesis within GenPlay doing research on the user experience, interaction and visual design for a classroom virtual environment to foster social initiation behaviours and hence favor social inclusion of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
