Brief Thesis Description:
After stroke, partial and unmet rehabilitation needs may ultimately lead to a loss of functional independence. The work presented in this thesis introduces a novel rehabilitation strategy based on the sensorimotor augmentation of goal-oriented movements, that aims to correct compensatory behaviors though reinforcement protocols and maximizes the retention of functional improvements.
Experience as a PhD Student:
Completing a PhD program in UPF was the toughest professional challenge I’ve ever faced, but it gave me indescribable satisfactions, and it allowed me to grow, both on a professional and on a personal level. The interdisciplinary research conducted in DTIC is an endless source of inspiration for new projects and it facilitates access to international conferences, seminars and networking opportunities. Furthermore, the University provides a perfect atmosphere for work-life balance, allowing to enjoy the city and to build strong friendships
