MEDIUM and CritiCC Reading Club: Charlotte Brunsdon and the feminist retrieval of women researchers in communication

09.06.2022

MEDIUM and CritiCC invite you to a new edition of the Reading Club (14 June, 15 h). In this edition, Esperanza Herrero proposes the reading of "A thief in the night", by Charlotte Brunsdon, which will allow us to know and reflect on the role of women researchers in communication studies. This 1996 text is a reflection on the role of women and feminism in the CCCS in Birmingham.

Esperanza Herrero will also tell us about the work she is doing within the FEMICOM research project: Roles Femeninos en Comunicación, which seeks to recover and claim the role of women researchers in communication of the first (30s-60s) and second generation (60s-90s).

The activity is open, but you must register in advance here. Certificates of attendance will be issued.

The article will be distributed among those who have registered for the activity.

Esperanza Herrero Andreu holds a degree in Journalism and Information and Documentation from the University of Murcia (2019) and a Master's in Applied Media Research from the Carlos III University of Madrid (2020). She is currently a FPU predoctoral researcher in the Department of Communication at the University of Murcia and a member of the FEMICOM research group, where she is developing her doctoral thesis focused on the recovery of women's contributions to the foundation of the field of communication theories.
