Call for papers for the Media, Power and Politics symposium coordinated by Jose A. Moreno in the 5th CICYP congress at University of Sevilla

CritiCC’s researcher Jose Antonio Moreno and Noelia Ruiz Alba researcher from University of Seville coordinates a Media, Power and Politics in the Information Society symposium that will takes place in the 5th edition of the International Congress Communication and Thinking (CICYP) the days 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April of 2020 in the University of Seville.

This symposium will address the intersection between power structures and their influence in the media and politics. Proposals related with topics such as political communication, threats to democracy, interest groups and media, political economy of communication, independent media, communication policies, and social media from a power perspective fit in this symposium. The deadline to send proposals is the 24th February 2020.

Proposals can be sent in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Researcher from Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Philosophy, Pedagogy, Laws, Anthropology, Sociology and other social branches are welcomed.

This year the transversal topic of the talks and plenary sessions of the 5th CICYP congress  is “Communication and youth. New media, use and consumption”. Further, there will be around 25 more thematic symposia about diverse topics such as videogames, gender perspective in communication, climate change and media, fake news and so on.

The Communication College of the University of Sevilla will host this yearly event organized by Laboratory of Studies in Communication (LADECOM) and the I+D project JUVEN-TV of the University of Malaga.
