The ECREA Science and Environment section has distinguished the paper Dominant Frames in Think Tanks on Climate Policy in Europe as Best Paper of the Sience and Enviornment Section at ECREA 2018. The paper was presented by Núria Almiron (UPF), Maxwell Boykoff (University of Colorado Boulder), Marta Narberhaus (UIC) and Francisco Heras (UAM) at the Science and Environment Communication Section at ECREA 2018, held in Lugano, Switzerland, from 31 October to 3 November 2018.

Abstract: The paper presented findings from a in-progress research conducting a frame analysis on the output of a list of climate change denial European think tanks. Preliminary results show that most US counterframes are found in a number of climate contrarian think tanks in Europe, following similar discursive patterns, including the alignment with neoliberal ideology to varying degree.
