Laura Fernández presents her PhD work in-process in the Complutense University of Madrid

CritiCC's member Laura Fernández presented last monday October 29th her PhD thesis in-process in the series of conferences on Critical Analysis of Speciesism, celebrated in the Complutense University of Madrid . The event, in its 4th edition was organised by the university student association AUCE (Asociación Universitaria Contra el Especismo) with Animal Ethics. 

The conference was titled  Imágenes contra el especismo. "Moral shocks" y comunicación visual estratégica en el activismo por la liberación animal (Images against speciesism. "Moral Shocks" and strategic visual communication in the animal liberation movement) and she explained the theoretical framework on strategic visual communication in the international animal liberation movement, the role of emotions on communication and the definition of moral shocks, which have been a key tool for promoting respect towards nonhuman animals since the very starts of the antispeciesist movement. She also covered the ethical and strategical dilemmas regarding the use of "moral shocks".
