Last thursday, 10th may CritiCC organised a seminar on critical discourse analysis with Dr. Xavier Giró, from the UAM (Autonomous University of Barcelona). 

Xavi introduced the values of critical discouse analysis, considering it more a focus than a methodological tecnique by itself. He introduced the definition of conflict and how it can be understood through the discourse analysis, arguing that critical discurse analysis is especially focused on the power discourses and its effects on oppressed groups. Xavi teached to his audience how to analyse media productions from this point of view.

The assistance and participation to the seminar were very successful.
