'Retrats Intermitents', a new podcast about LGBTIQA+ audiovisual representation
On Wednesday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. will be held a presentation of this podcast project at the Poblenou Campus of the Pompeu Fabra University. 'Retrats Intermitents' is an initiative promoted by CritiCC members of the LGBTIQ+Pantalles research project, and funded by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation.
'Retrats Intermitents' is a podcast that seeks to generate conversations around queer representation in audiovisual combining three perspectives: academic, audiovisual creation and public culture.
The podcast consists of five episodes where are reflected some big issues on cultural representations of identities and sexualities: visibility, references, suffering, history and community. The title of the podcast pays tribute to Ventura Pons Ocaña's documentary, Retrat Intermitent, an emblematic film of the queer cinema of the late seventies.
The episodes will be published every Tuesday throughout the month of May on Spotify, IVoox and Apple Podcast, among other streaming platforms. The chapters follow a conversation format where people from the field of academic research and the audiovisual industry participate, together with people who they share their vision as an audience of the series and films.
