New Publication: Cyberbullying and Cyberhate as Two Interlinked Instances of Cyber-Aggression in Adolescence: A Systematic Review

Giovanni Fulantelli, Davide Taibi, Lidia Scifo, Veronica Schwarze, and Sabrina Eimler published an
article on cyberbullying and cyberhate in the high ranked journal Frontiers in Psychology. The article
presents a systematic literature review aiming to investigate the commonalities and differences
between the phenomena “cyberbullying” and “cyberhate”. Results show that the term
“cyberbullying” is referred to more often in the literature than “cyberhate”. Although cyberbullying
and cyberhate share many predictors and outcomes on adolescents' wellbeing, there are also
differences between them. Developing prevention and intervention programs on a responsible and
safe use of social media should therefore refer to both, cyberbullying and cyberhate.
