Tuition fee waiver for students of the MA in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference 2021-2022

The MA in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference is offering three tuition fee waivers for students enrolled in the Master in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Amount of the waiver: €2000 to be deducted from the tuition fee for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Eligibility: Students admitted, or students who have reserved their place, in the master's programme for the first time in 2021-2022. Students must enroll on a full-time basis.

Deadline for submitting applications: 14th June 2021

Application and documentation:

1/ Duly completed application form

2/ Official undergraduate transcript indicating the weighted mark with a weighted score from 1 to 4, in case it was not submitted upon admission.

3/ Curriculum vitae including undergraduate transcript indicating the average mark from the awarding university, ideally in GPA indicating the scale format (1-4, 1-5, etc.). If GPA is not possible, please indicate the scale in which your average grade point is provided in your records (1-100, 1-10, 1-20, etc.). Please note that if the scale of your GPA or other type of average mark is not clarified, you will automatically be assigned 1 point out of 5 for this criterion.

Waiver decision:

The evaluation committee is made up of: Núria Almiron Roig (master's programme coordinator), Jordi Balló Fantova (Dean) and Glòria Salvadó Corretger (Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies).

The evaluation committee will also use the following documents submitted by the candidate for the admission to the MA in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference:

·       Undergraduate degree granting access to the master's programme (it does not count toward the grading)

·       Curriculum vitae (5 points) including the undergraduate transcript indicating the average mark from the awarding university, ideally in GPA indicating the scale format (1-4, 1-5, etc.). If GPA is not possible, please indicate the scale in which your average grade point is provided in your records (1-100, 1-10, 1-20, etc.). Please note that if the scale of your GPA or other type of average mark is not clarified, you will automatically be assigned 1 point out of 5 for this criterion.

·       Undergraduate transcript indicating the average mark from the awarding university (3 points)

·       Letters of presentation (2 points)

Deadline to resolve the waiver: the final decision will be published by mid September on this website.

Incompatibilities: The waiver is not compatible with any other waiver or scholarship, whether public or private, awarded for the same purpose or with any other grant awarded by this master's programme.

Observations:

If upon application you still had to complete your undergraduate studies, in the Tutorial Session you will have to submit the following:

-      Original and photocopy or certified copy of undergraduate degree.

-      Undergraduate degree transcript granting access to the master's programme: Original and photocopy or certified copy. Students who have taken official studies at UPF do not need to provide the transcript.

The final award of the scholarship is subject to full-time enrolment on the programme and verification of all documents submitted during the application process. Therefore, in the Tutorial Session you will have to submit the original and photocopy or certified copy of the documentation submitted upon application.
