Francesca Franzon has joined the COLT group as part of the Alien ERC project. She plans on studying how natural and artificial languages efficiently encode information, using methods from computational linguistics and cognitive science. 

Francesca got her MS and PhD in Linguistics at the University of Padova, Italy.

She also worked at the language learning and reading lab of SISSA, (Trieste, Italy) as a PostDoc, looking into why natural languages are shaped the way they are.
