Instructional texts, such as articles in wikiHow, describe the actions necessary to accomplish a certain goal. In wikiHow and other community-edited resources, articles are subject to revision edits on a regular basis. In general, such edits are likely to represent improvements to an article. Yet, it is unclear what exactly the function of each edit is (e.g. factual correction, stylistic refinement or textual clarification) and in how far relevant linguistic characteristics (e.g., spelling/grammar mistakes, ambiguities, empty elements) can be modeled computationally.
