Natalia is an archaeologist interested in the process of cultural change between two societies through the study of material culture. Much of her research is conducted in central Mexico, studying the processes of cultural change during the pre-Hispanic era and the early colonial period. Since 2016, she has been a part of ABERIGUA, where she co-directs the excavations at San Dionisio in Humåtak (Guåhån). Natalia is a Serra Húnter Associate Professor in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Barcelona. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and volunteering with the Red Cross.
