I received a professional engineering title and MSc. degree on electronic engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Valparaíso, Chile (2018) and submitted my PhD thesis at Macquarie University (2022, currently under examination), Sydney, Australia, working under the supervision of Prof. PhD. David McAlpine, where I employed the efficient coding hypothesis to assess neural adaptation to changing acoustic contexts, using single- and multi-unit recordings from the auditory midbrain of small mammals.

My main interests lie within a combination of sensory neuroscience (particularly auditory and visual systems), and information theory. After submitting my PhD, I joined Prof. PhD. Gustavo Deco's lab, where I'm currently working on a project that aims to optimize electrical stimulation patterns in the primary visual cortex, in order to maximize the information transmission throughout the cortical visual pathway, using in silico modelling and in vivo spike-train recordings along with calcium imaging.
