DARROW COREY, JOANNA

I have a BA in Spanish with a minor in Italian, a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts, and another in Cognitive Science and Language.

My previous research has included crosslinguistic interference in foreign language speech production, and the comprehension of foreign language speech that conveys real world information. I have conducted studies employing both behavioral techniques and those involved in electroencephalography (ERPs).

At present, my research is focused on the effect that processing information in a foreign language, compared to a native one, has on decision making. We are currently carrying out many studies investigating how and why the use of a foreign language affects moral, and to a lesser extent economic, judgments.
