Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) is a century-old institution of higher education with a multi-focus profile. It excels in several disciplines and is one the top 10 universities in Brazil.

The CAPES-Print projects are awarded to top universities in Brazil to expand the internationalization of the institution and they bring together a university from Brazil with several international universities for exchanging personnel and students within their post-graduate programme. In this case, the project is with the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), the oldest university in Brazil. UFPR ranks as 37th best university in Latin-America and it is among the 651-700 best universities in the world, according to QS World University Rankings. It is placed as the 9th best university in Brazil in the latest "Ranking Universitário Folha (RUF)", published by the nation's largest newspaper. Nowadays, its facilities are spread over the capital Curitiba and other cities of the State of Paraná and UFPR offers 124 undergraduate degree courses, 44 doctorate, 66 masters and 5 professional masters programs. The UPF is one of the partner of the internationalization programme awarded through the CAPES-Print project.
