ESOF (EuroScience Open Forum) 2016 in Manchester
30.07.2016
The 4 members of CardioFunXion met again the 28-29th July 2016 in Manchester at the MSCA ESOF satellite event!
We met a lot of other Marie Curie scholarship holders and alumni and we attended together to presentations about research and society. They reflected the researcher's moral duty to share his/her knowledge with the general public while being ethical and transparent when presenting the data. Questions such as
- How should researchers communicate with society in order to win its support and get their buy-in?
- Why is it important to inform the EU citizen/consumer and make him/her understand the value of research and science?
- Ethics, transparency, research integrity, misconduct: Where do I stand?
- Why integrating gender (within your team or your research project) can make a difference to the quality of your research?
were asked in the conference. Actually, there were a couple of active discussions together with the public in that kind of Questions. For more information on the program and presentations we refer to the webpage of the program.
