After the 2019's edition held at UPF and organized by the UPF-CAE, the 2021 edition of the EACAS (European Association for Critical Animal Studies) conference was held online at Edge-Hill University organized by the Center for Human-Animal Studies. The conference was titled "Appraising Critical Animal Studies" and took place on 24th and 25th June 2021. 

The following UPF-CAE members attended with the papers:

• Marta Tafalla: "Animal Aesthetics and Animal Ethics: Exploring Connections"
• Macarena Montes: "Animal Personhood: The Quest for Recognition"
• Núria Almiron, Laura Fernández and Olatz Aranceta: "The Representation of Animal Activists in US Animal Advocacy Documentaries"

Also, Lukas Leitinger, a PhD researcher incorporating into UPF-CAE in September 2021, presented the paper: "Challenging Anthropocentrism in Continental Philosophy through Animal Resistance".
