Tomàs Marquès-Bonet has been awarded with the International Early Career Award by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Tomàs Marquès-Bonet, coordinator of the Genome and Systems is one of the two researchers in Spain to receive the International Early Career Award by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The prize has been given to 41 young and exceptional scientists selected from 1,400 nominations from around the world.

 

The objective of Marquès-Bonet project is to develop a catalogue of genomic variations among the great apes to be able to apply it to conservation and to better understand the evolutionary origin of our species.
