Bounded Rationality, Cognition and Strategic Uncertainty

The workshop will run for 1,5 days and will take place on June 13-14, 2019 in Barcelona. This workshop welcomes any paper on topics related to bounded rationality, with a focus on the topic of limited cognition. This includes models of limited attention and applications, both in strategic and non-strategic settings. This workshop also focuses on the subject of coordination, as it relates to cognition.

Computational and Experimental Economics

The workshop will run for 2 days and will take place on June 10-11, 2019 in Barcelona. In this two days’ workshop we want to bring together researchers working in two quite separate fields, computational economics and experimental economics, which yet have seen a steady increase of fruitful interaction in the recent years ( see e.g. The Handbook of Computational Economics, Heterogenous Agents, Edited by Cars Hommes, Blake LeBaron, Volume 4, 2018, Elsevier.).

External Validity, Generalizability and Replicability of Economic Experiments

In the last decades, behavioral and experimental economics have been very successful in showing how economic processes and outcomes are significantly shaped by different aspects of human behavior. These fields, however, are still largely based on findings from experiments conducted in laboratory conditions or with convenience samples of subjects, and there is a growing concern about their external validity and generalizability to real-world contexts. At the same time, we are in the middle of a wide-ranging replication crisis that represents a serious threat to all experimental sciences, with some studies estimating the replicability of published research at less than 50%. This workshop will accept high-quality papers related in any way to the external validity, generalizability or replicability of experimental research.

Stochastic Choice

The workshop will run for 1,5 days and will take place in June 12-13, 2019 in Barcelona. There is renewed interest in stochastic choice behavior, with recent key theoretical and empirical contributions. The purpose of this workshop is to bring scholars currently working on stochastic choice, from various perspectives, including decision theory, experimental economics, micro-econometrics, psychology, neuro-economics, macroeconomics, etc.
