BCN MedTech participates in the ESC Congress 2017

31.08.2017

The European Society of Cardiology Congress was held in Barcelona, August 26th- 30th , and is the World’s largest Cardiovascular Congress contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine worldwide.

Over 500 sessions and a distinguished faculty including the most respected scientists and clinicians from around the globe provided an unmatched scientific and educational programme covering the entire scope of cardiovascular science.

Some of BCN MedTech members, whose research is focused on cardiovascular diseases, participated in this congress and presented their work in oral presentations or poster sessions.

Ruben Doste and Andy Luis Olivares were selected to give oral presentations of their work in the “Computer Modelling and Simulation” session. Ruben’s work was entitled “Non-invasive virtual prediction of site of origin in outflow tract ventricular arrhythmias with a patient-specific computational model”, and Andy presented “Combined analysis of virtual haemodynamics patterns and LAA morphologies in relation with the risk of thrombus formation”.

Other members of BCN MedTech presented their work in poster format. Alejandro Alcaine presented his work on the “Arrhythmias & Pacing” topic, and was entitled “Automatic delineation of slow conducting channels from electroanatomical maps in patients with scar-related ventricular arrhythmias”. Gabriel Bernardino and Federica Sacco both presented their work on the Cardiac Imaging topic, and where entitled “3D shape assessment from 2D echocardiography using machine learning”, and “Haemodynamics of the left and right human ventricles: impact of trabeculae and papillary muscles”, respectively.

You can watch their presentations or posters in the following link.
